Sat 2nd February Beginners Sewing Class 1-4pm Cost: $40 Kit included

If you’ve ever had the desire to learn to sew but didn’t know where to start, this is the class for you! Learn the basics using one of our machines or bring your machine. You will make a simple bag and insert a zip using basic stitches and techniques that will help you master the machine. 

Saturday 9th February Sewing Machine Embroidery Day 10-1pm $30 class (includes embroidery file + materials)

Sew like a pro in no time as you learn in comfort under the guidance of Kim. Each project is easy to complete and provides you with skills and technical know-how. There will be no limit to what you can create and do.

Saturday 2nd March Sewing machine Feet - Janome ONLY 1-4pm Cost: $20

This class focuses on the use of different speciality feet with your sewing machine, from those that create exciting effects to ones designed to make your challenging sewing tasks easier

Sat 16th March Get to know your Overlocker. 10-1pm. Cost: $45 kit included

Have you just bought or are in possession of an overlocker and have no idea what to do with it? Maybe you can use it to serge the raw edges of your sewing but that’s about it? An overlocker can be a scary beast and threading them can seem like a very daunting task but rest assured by the end of this workshop you will LOVE your overlocker.

Sat 30th March Lone star cushion 10am-3pm, cost $40 per class ( pattern only) kits on request.

This Cushion is a modern twist on a Traditional Lone Star pattern. This Cushion pattern features the technique of Foundation Paper Piecing to construct it. You can use any 4 fat quarters you like to make this cushion to suit your décor.

Sat 27th Project Bag 10am-3pm, cost $30 per class

They are a quick and satisfying sewing hit, and they are also really useful to keep your current sewing projects in. So I thought I would show you here my method of making the bags. A zippered closure keeps everything safe and secure and a see-through vinyl window allows you to see at a glance what is in each bag.

Sat 4th Beginners Clutch Bag Class 10am-1 pm, cost $40 per class ( fabric and clasp included)

An easy beginner’s bag which I am sure you will love. Bags are a great project for a beginner sewer. This pattern is usually easier than some and you don’t have to worry so much about getting the fit right. It is also super useful and makes a great gift! Learn the basics of installing a zip and sewing with cork or vinyl)

Sat 1st English Paper Piecing Class - cushion 1- 3.30pm Cost: $40 Kit included.

English Paper Piecing (commonly called EPP) is a method of stabilizing fabric around a heavy paper shape before sewing the pieces together to create intricately pieced designs. It provides excellent accuracy and precision piecing. Once sewn, the papers can be removed and a beautifully pieced patchwork is left from which to make cushions, quilts or anything else you can think of.

 General class information

Class Samples Policy:

  • We will post photos of the class sample on social media (Facebook and Instagram) prior to the class
  • \We display the class samples in the shop for you to view.
  • Photos will be put on our website class listing where possible

Class Fee Policy:

Please contact us if you are unable to attend a class before commencement of the class,

  • We consider your enrolment to be a commitment by you to our teacher
  • No stamps on discount cards for class fees.
  •  A $20 deposit is required to book your place prior to class and to receive the requirements list
  • Can I get a refund? Yes if the class is cancelled due to reasons beyond our control, or if class numbers are insufficient. Deposit will not be refunded if you just change your mind or have a last minute clash. This is only because I commit to pay the teachers based on your commitment to me.

Class Attendance Policy:

  • Please do not bring guests to class unless prior permission has been given.
  • Be sure to pick up the items you will need for the class prior to class so that you can be prepared with supplies.
  • As a courtesy to others in your class we ask you to turn off your mobile phone while class is in progress.
  • Sewing Machines: All classes require that you bring your sewing machine, unless otherwise stated in the class instructions. Please ensure it is in good working order and has a new needle fitted. Also include your manual in your general sewing supplies.

Sewing Machine Hire

We have 6 basic sewing machines which you may hire for $10/class during workshops if required. Our machines have ¼” foot so they are suitable for piecing or sewing. There are limited walking (even feed) feet available but are not large throat machines. But if you can, do bring your own, as it is always easier to work with a machine you are familiar with and not lose time learning to use a new machine.

Morning and Afternoon Tea at workshops

Morning and afternoon tea are provided with each class. We supply a range of tea, herbal teas, coffee or chilled water and sweet biscuits. Unlimited for you to sew by.
