Did you know that your
machine should be serviced at least once per year, even if it's not being
used? This is to ensure that the very light oils used in sewing machines
do not dry out causing excessive drag and poor performance.
Our in house technician brings more than 40 years of experience to the servicing and repair of your machine. We manage the shipping and handling of all electronic repairs through brand authorised repair centres. Our 14 Point Service Plan guarantees your machine will come home ready to go! 1. External covers removed, hand wheel, motor and belt removed. Belt, drive pulley checked for wear; replaced if necessary. 2. All internal components cleaned using a solvent to remove all the old oil; machine then thoroughly dried using a compressor to remove excess solvent. 3. Tension unit removed and tension discs checked for wear, buffed and polished if required. 4. Needle plate, hook and bobbin case removed and checked for signs of needle strikes and are buffed and polished if required. 5. Motor brushes checked for wear and replaced if necessary. 6. All other components (e.g. gears, winder rubbers, globes etc.) checked and replaced if necessary. 7. All internal parts oiled using high grade sewing machine oil; motor, hand wheel and belts then refitted, and belt tension set to manufacturer’s specification. 8. A new needle is fitted and all the timings are checked and adjusted if necessary. 9. Power leads and foot control checked for safety and smooth operation. 10. The bobbin winder is checked for even winding. The bobbin case tension is checked using a weight. A bobbin is wound using top quality thread and the bobbin case is fitted and the machine threaded up. 11. The machine is tested on various stitch widths and lengths to ascertain correct upper tension setting. Once upper tension is set correctly, tension indicator is adjusted to the manufacturer’s prescribed setting. 12. When the tensions are correct, stitches are checked, and adjusted if required. 13. A sample is then sewn to accompany the machine back to you. 14. The external covers are then cleaned using a detergent, and the machine is then packed up along with the power cord and foot control for return to you.
